Who This Is

The King Huni Digital Archive (kinghuni.com) is an independently run research and archive site. For any privacy question or request, contact corey.adams@gmail.com.

What We Collect

If you accept the analytics prompt, this site records: a randomly generated ID stored in your browser (not your name, email, or any account — we don't have accounts), which pages you view, roughly where you clicked or tapped, how far you scrolled, how long you stayed on a page, the site that referred you here, and general device info (browser type, screen size, language, timezone). This is the same information any basic web analytics tool collects.

We do not collect your name, email address, or precise location, and we don't build any profile beyond this single site's traffic patterns. Our web server may briefly log IP addresses in standard access logs for security purposes (this is separate from the analytics system above and not something we query or cross-reference).

If you reject or ignore the prompt, none of this is collected, and nothing on the site is restricted either way — every page works identically regardless of your choice.

Why We Collect It

Solely to understand which pages get read and how the site is used, so we can improve it. We don't run ads, don't sell anything, and have no commercial use for this data. It is processed only with your consent, which you give (or withhold) via the prompt shown on your first visit.

Cookies & Local Storage

This site stores exactly three items in your browser, and nothing else:

NameWherePurposeLifespan
_consent_analyticslocalStorageRemembers your accept/reject choiceUntil you clear browser storage
_an_visitor_idlocalStorageLets us count repeat vs. new visitorsUntil you clear browser storage
_an_session_idsessionStorageGroups events into one visitCloses with your browser tab, or after 30 minutes idle

_consent_analytics is strictly necessary to remember your choice, so it's set regardless of what you choose. The other two are only ever set if you accept.

Third Parties

None. Analytics data is stored only in our own database — never sold, shared, or sent to any third party or analytics vendor. Fonts, scripts, and images are all served directly from kinghuni.com; we deliberately don't load anything from Google Fonts or any other third-party CDN, so no data is sent elsewhere just by loading a page.

The History, Artifacts, and Feed pages link out to Wikipedia, museum sites, and news outlets as citations. Visiting those links is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

How Long We Keep It

Analytics events are automatically deleted after 14 months. This runs on an automated monthly cleanup, not a manual process.

Your Choices & Rights

Change your mind anytime: use the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer to reopen the prompt and switch your choice.

Request deletion: since we don't collect names or emails, we can't look up "your" data by who you are — only by the random ID your browser holds. Open your browser's developer console on this site and run localStorage.getItem('_an_visitor_id'), then email us that value at corey.adams@gmail.com and we'll delete every record tied to it within 30 days.

Request access or ask questions: email corey.adams@gmail.com with your visitor ID (see above) and we'll tell you what's on file for it.

Children's Privacy

This site is a general-audience historical archive, not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If what this site collects or how it's used changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised accordingly.
